What does Sigma Beta mean to you?
When I think about what Sigma Beta means to me, a lot comes to mind. It is tough to put into words how lucky I feel to be a part of such an amazing group of men. To me, Sigma Beta is like a big group project that never has a due date. Something new happens every single day. Whether we face a new challenge, celebration, hardship, or even nothing at all, one pillar remains the same. We show up for each other. It is a place where we foster growth, build connections, and create friendships that will last forever. No two brothers are the same, and when you combine 85 of us into one pot, some pretty amazing things come out of it. I always say that no matter what battles a brother may be internally battling, there is no better medicine than spending time at the house with the guys. Sigma Beta is a special place and when I take a step back and look around, we really are some of the richest guys on the planet. We are not financially rich yet, but we are rich in loyalty and brotherhood.
What was your reaction to being selected by your brothers?
When I was selected by my brothers for this award, I felt a wave of emotions. Mainly, I felt a lot of pride that my actions and ideas had a real impact on this group of guys. It is a really good feeling to be chosen for this award. It almost felt like a weight off my shoulders because I have done my best to lead by example and logic since I joined, and winning the award shows others that if they do the same, they could end up in my position. We will never be perfect, but if every brother "tried" to win Barili, the things we could accomplish would be priceless.
What field or position are you looking to get into after college?
After college, my goal is to begin an entry-level sales role at a strong company that has room to grow. I am not exactly sure which industry I want to pursue but the cybersecurity world has stood out to me a lot. If all goes to plan, I will work for 1-3 years in that role and move into a closing role where I can develop a strong book of business and sell emotions and relationships rather than products alone.
